Well, I am about 6 weeks away from taking a hopefully awesome 18 day vacation from work. I will be documenting the trip with dashboard video camera as well as the random panoramic photo, as well as trying to absorb and get as many artistic photos of my trip.

If things go according to plan, I will be leaving the Jackson Street point (beginning of Route 66) in Chicago on August 10th. My google map, in case anyone is interested is below…I will still be revamping the map during these six weeks up until my trip. My main objective is to explore the wonderful American southwest, desert, and taking photos of all the quirky, abandoned and interesting things I can find. Also it will be a time for me to relax, ponder, and think about my place here on this earth and in this plain of existence. I know pretty deep huh? Maybe. The last couple of years, I have thought about things and why I am here on his globe of blue and green. What is my role, what should I do with my life? Dunno…just really try and work, and create I suppose. In recent years I have thought about my life and my death…I know pretty morbid, but I mean we all will die, but I do contemplate my life and death almost every day. What I guess in recent weeks I thought about not what I won’t be able to achieve, but take a simpler view..what WILL I be able to achieve with the time I have left. I used to be soured about things I could never do, now I find a passage of time where I am freed from what I cannot do, and what I can do..and be at peace with myself and the most important word..and idea.. “satisfied”. Simple satisfaction, not starvation for something or gluttony for what I can never have…..my 18 days will be mine…
