Morning in the Desert
Well I took my route 66 road trip, I have been back home for a few days. I drove some of Route 66, from Jackson and Lakeshore drive in Chicago to Barstow, California. Sadly, I maxed out my credit card before getting to Santa Monica, California. This is when I decided to turn back east. I got a few nice shots in the desert, and other places, but honesty am not super impressed at the photos I got. Or at least the amount of cool photos I got.
I noticed that some of the really cool, old ruins were fenced in, or by someone’s house. I was not about to trespass and risk sucking on the wrong end of a person’s shotgun. In any event, the desert in the morning just east of Amboy, California was so peaceful. At 2am I left Barstow, California and proceeded east to Ludlow, California. Turning off at the Ludlow exit, I found myself on old Route 66. I took 66 to Amboy, where a trucker was idling for the night. Kind of upsetting, because I wanted to be there in complete peace and quiet with no noise. I fell asleep in my car waiting for the sun to come start to come up, but thanks to a fast moving car passing by, I woke up in time. Since I wanted to experience the desert in the morning with no disturbance, I drove 10 mins from Amboy, east. There I parked the car and sat…..
I have to say that the desert in the morning was the most peaceful, and surreal, and magical place that I have ever been in. Once the darkness lifted, and my fear about being in a large open place in the dark faded, the beautiful, warm colors started to develop.
