Seligman, Arizona a very friendly place
About 5 days out on my Route 66 roadtrip, I was debating whether or not to continue west of Flagstaff, Arizona and try and see California a bit before heading back to the Chicagoland area. Anyway, the main goal was that I wanted to drive a bit on Route 66 in each state that it passed through. Also I wanted to see a sunrise in the California desert. I took Route 66 into Seligman, Arizona and met a wonderful, elderly couple…the Delgadillo’s. Both of them were very engaging and extremely friendly. Years before, I passed by the edge of Seligman, and wondered why the sign said “Birthplace of historic Route 66″. After meeting Mr. Delgadillo, I kinda know why.

My stop in Seligman, was very relaxed, friendly fun. It is a great memory for me, and I hope to remember it until next time I venture out west.
Here is the owner of the the great, little, route 66 shop in his own words about the America of yesteryear.
